Alec Dankworth is an award-winning jazz bassist and composer who, in addition to leading several groups of his own, has worked with an amazing list of artists including Van Morrison, Stephanne Grappelli, Abdullah Ibrahim, and The Dave Brubeck Quartet.  With Alec at the helm, the big band is a virtual who's who of contemporary British jazz.  The programme will explore seminal early works by the UK's most celebrated jazz composer/arranger, Sir John Dankworth.
